I received my KitchenAid tea kettle a few days ago and I love it. It is very heavy duty and it holds a lot of water. It is very easy to use and it does whistle like it advertises. The color is perfect since I have a Pear Colored KitchenAid Mixer also. I only wish I could fill it right from my refrigerator door water dispenser. I can't get it under the spout, but that is the design of my refrigerator. It's a really gorgeous color. I'm glad I bought it at Amazon for a good price too.

Soap nuts are extremely economical to use, and they contain no chemicals. If you're looking for ways to reduce the chemical exposure in your household, this is one of the easiest, most effective, most affordable ways you can do that.

How I use soap nuts: I put 5 soap nuts into the small cloth bag (included with purchase) and tie it shut. I drop it into my top-loading washer along with my dirty laundry and run the load as usual. (Note: I wash everything in cold water.) When the washer stops, I remove the bag of soap nuts and set it on top of the dryer to dry. When the soap nuts feel squishy inside the bag, I know it's time to dump them out and refill with 5 fresh soap nuts. I usually get 5 wash loads per bagful. I do not use any chemicals such as fabric softener or dryer sheets. I do, however, put vinegar into the final rinse dispenser of my washer (1/4 cup in summer when it's humid and 1/2 cup in winter when it's dry). The vinegar reduces static electricity for clothes dried in the dryer. (This is something I've done for years, before I started using soap nuts.)

Our laundry includes the following: towels, sheets, my clothes, my husband's clothes (he's a professional painter, he works on our vehicles, and he does yard work - so his stuff can get pretty dirty), and cloth diapers when the grandchildren visit. I've tried to determine what our laundry smells like after it's been washed and dried either in the dryer or on the clothesline. All I can say is that it smells "clean." The soap nuts don't seem to impart any particular scent onto the laundry.

We keep a notepad by our washer on which we record each wash load and note whenever we start a fresh bag of soap nuts. I probably won't do this forever, but being a new soap nuts user myself, I wanted to see how long they lasted and how the cost per load worked out. We have now used soap nuts for a total of 68 laundry loads. We've used 5.8 oz. of the 4 lb. package we purchased, which, at my purchase price of $49.95, works out to a cost of $.07 per load! The average number of soap nuts we have used per load is 5.7.

The literature that came with the soap nuts said that they have other household cleaning uses besides laundry. I haven't tried them on my dishes or anything else yet, but one of these days I just might.

If you aren't convinced yet to buy soap nuts in a large quantity, please buy a trial size and use them for a few loads. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised!

I really like using soap berries for laundry. I'm still experimenting to see how many loads I can do with four or so of them in the little muslin bag that comes with the order--so far three loads with no sign of slowing down. I stopped using dryer sheets with success also. No static and clothes are super soft. My water is very hard and has a slight sulfur smell to it, but the berries are tough enough for that water. Clothes come out smelling clean and are soft--better than when I was using All + borax.

Update: I've just finished my 7th load with the first .5 ounce of soap berries. Still going strong. After washing a fleece-type blanket, there was quite a bit of static upon pulling it out of the dryer, but it quickly dissipated. It wasn't enough static to make me want to use a dryer sheet.

First of all, let me say this to all manufacturers..... As a customer I would certainly appreciate more than one image of an item I am interested in purchasing. Nothing is more aggravating than shopping online playing guessing games.

So to any and all people who are interested in this particular shower curtain by InterDesign. Here is my experience...

I ordered six of these curtains to use as privacy curtains on my lanai. Five of them had the dirty lime green color without the shimmery silver, and one had the shimmery silver dividing the blues from the greens creating a softer lime green. I read all the reviews but could not understand why there was such a difference between reviews regarding color. Before I ordered I contacted InterDesign and asked them if there was a problem with the colorschemes on each curtain. They told me no, so in spite of the reviews I ordered six. Then I sent them back because only one out of the five even slightly resembled the photo. Too bad they don't look as pretty in person as they do in the photo. They must have taken the photo in some really bright lighting. I took photos of the curtains to show the difference between the five darker ones, and the one lighter curtain with the shimmery blue in it. I could have lived with the shimmery blue one, but not the dirty lime green ones. I will try to upload some photos, as I sure wish I had seen a better image of these curtains and saved myself a lot of shopping and return time. As for the curtains I did buy. They were also by InterDesign with green stripes and white floral leaves diagonally across. The look great on the lanai, plus you cannot see through them at all, and they look 'outdoorsy'.

I first bought these for my first child since they were the cheapest I could find. I have used them ever since for all my kids (3 in total). The spoons are just great and I love that there is a huge pack, since eventually the spoons are riddled with bite marks and it is easy to toss one and still have a bunch more. These are dishwasher safe (top rack) so you can just throw them in and not have to worry about it being discolored, like I have experienced with some other baby spoons.

The forks are not really meant to be used as a fork- it would be difficult to spear something like lettuce with this. I consider them to be like a big spoon, and they work great when my kids get to toddler age and want to have bigger bites. I have bought one package for each child and have not needed to buy more. They are especially great for trips with a baby.

I bought these to use in our lunch box for outings. They are nice because they are kid sized unlike regular plastic utensils, and they are more durable(toddlers tend to break the regular plastic utensils), and of course I can wash and reuse them. The fork isn't as good as a real fork, obviously its plastic, but it's a great plastic fork. No more running out of yogurt spoons or giving the kids choking hazards! Plus if I loose one it's not a big deal.
